A Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed into the premises of Milestone School and College in the Uttara area of Dhaka on July 21, killing one person and injuring at least four others, Reuters reports.

According to a statement from the military's public relations department, an F-7 BGI training aircraft took off at 1:06 p.m. local time, before crashing shortly afterward in a populated urban area.

"Bangladesh Air Force's F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed in Uttara. The aircraft took off at 13:06 (0706 GMT)," the official statement says.

Initial reports suggest the aircraft crashed into the roof of the school's cafeteria, sparking a large fire visible in video footage from the scene, with thick black smoke billowing into the sky.

At least four individuals were injured and transported to a nearby military hospital, and one person has been confirmed dead. The accident occurred during class hours.

As previously reported, the plane crashed at London Southend Airport in the UK on July 13. This happened during takeoff - four people died in the accident.

Also on June 12, a large-scale plane crash occurred near the airport in the Indian city of Ahmedabad, in which about 300 people died.
