British boxer Tyson Fury sharply commented on Oleksandr Usyk’s initiative to organize a final fight as part of a trilogy. The Gypsy King did not hold back his emotions when assessing the Ukrainian’s plans, according to The Ring.
Fury’s reaction to the idea of a trilogy
Former world champion Tyson Fury responded to Oleksandr Usyk’s high-profile statement.
Recall that the Ukrainian expressed his desire to end his professional career with a third fight against the British boxer.
Fury said he expected such a move from his former opponent.
“People are gonna call me Nostradamus soon, aren't they? I definitely predicted that one. What do I say? Fuck him. That’s what I’ll say,” the boxer stated.
Views on Usyk–Joshua alliance
In addition to his remarks about the Ukrainian champion, Fury also commented on Usyk’s unexpected collaboration with Anthony Joshua.
The news that the former rivals are training together did not anger Tyson, although he responded in his characteristic ironic style.
“What do I think about his training with Joshua? It’s incredible. If it works for them, I wish them luck. Everyone can work with whoever they want. Everyone has the right to their own opinion about who they train with,” the Briton said.
Fury’s return to the ring
The Usyk–Fury rivalry currently includes two fights, both of which were won by the Ukrainian.
In May 2024, Oleksandr Usyk won by split decision to become the undisputed champion, and in the rematch, he confirmed his status with a unanimous decision.
After these defeats, Fury announced his retirement from sport, but a year later, he changed his mind.
His return will take place on April 11 in a fight against Arslanbek Makhmudov.
During a recent staredown, the “Gypsy King” once again showed his eccentric behavior, attempting to kiss his opponent.
