If you want to live a long life, you definitely should consider the products you consume. It's worth ensuring that your diet positively impacts your health, according to the Mirror website.

Which products should be avoided

Dietician Michelle Routhenstein explains that while body care is important, if you want to improve your heart health, you should avoid three products.

Bacon, often consumed for breakfast, is harmful to health. Its frequent consumption leads to increased blood pressure, inflammation, and damage to blood vessels. As a result, the risk of heart disease increases.

In addition to bacon, experts recommend eliminating white bread to support heart health. The dietitian says the product can cause rapid spikes in blood sugar. Also, white bread has a high glycemic index and lacks nutrients and fiber compared to whole-grain alternatives.

The third product to exclude is chips because they harm the heart. They are often prepared in reused oil, leading to loss of unsaturated fats and increased trans fats. Dr. Setareh-Shenas also adds that regular consumption of fried food is associated with ischemic heart disease, high blood pressure, and obesity.

How to improve health

To improve overall heart health, it is advisable to include legumes in the diet, which contain plenty of fiber and promote satiety.

It is important to adhere to a healthy and balanced diet, consuming at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day, and eating foods high in fiber, starchy foods, dairy, or alternative dairy products.
