Reports emerged of hits on the territory of the Bolkhov Semiconductor Devices Plant, where a fire broke out, according to local social media, the Telegram channel Exilenova+, and the governor of the Oryol region, Andrey Klychkov.

Online channels in Oryol reported about drone flights over the region and predicted that the night would be noisy.

In the morning, posts appeared online claiming that the Bolkhov Semiconductor Devices Plant was hit during the air attack in the region. Local communities, in particular, reported explosions near the facility.

What is known about the Bolkhov Plant

This enterprise is under sanctions imposed by Western countries.

According to open sources, the Bolkhov Plant produces microchips, semiconductors, indicators, and microassemblies.

The plant's products are also used in communication systems, control systems, electronic warfare (EW), and simulators for tanks and missile complexes, notes the Telegram channel Exilenova+.

The enterprise cooperates with the Sozvezdie Concern and other entities of the Defense-Industrial Complex, the network reports, calling this plant an important element of Russia’s defense industry.

Additionally, footage has appeared online showing an explosion at the Bolkhov Plant last night. The photos clearly show smoke and fire at the site.

Authorities in the Oryol region report having repelled a drone attack

Around six in the morning, Oryol Governor Klychkov wrote on his Telegram that, allegedly, 11 enemy drones were destroyed in the region overnight.

"Preliminary information indicates no damage or casualties; operational inspections are ongoing at the incident sites," the Russian official assured.

As previously reported, on the night of May 21, several Russian regions reported explosions, allegedly due to drone attacks. In particular, loud bangs were mentioned in Telegram channels in the Tula and Yaroslavl regions. Additionally, airport operations were suspended in areas around Kaluga, Tula, Kostroma, and Yaroslavl.
