Explosions rock Russia’s Rostov region as unknown drones strike

In the early hours of June 25, explosions were heard in several cities across Russia’s Rostov region. Russians claim the region was attacked by unidentified drones, according to Russian Telegram channels.
About an hour ago, Russian media began reporting that at least seven explosions occurred in the suburbs of Taganrog and Novocherkassk. Preliminary reports suggest air defense systems were activated against unknown drones.
Eyewitnesses told the SHOT channel they heard between five and seven blasts near Taganrog. Residents of Shakhty, Matveyev Kurgan, and Novocherkassk also reported hearing loud noises.
They claim to have seen flashes in the sky from the explosions and heard the sounds of drones flying overhead. Additionally, less than half an hour ago, more explosion sounds were reported in Novocherkassk.
At this time, there is no information about the consequences. No footage of fires or similar incidents has emerged so far.
The situation was commented on by Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation. He shared a video in which a woman can be heard questioning, “Where is the air defense?”
“‘In Crimea, they are buried in the ground forever, and the rest — near Moscow,’” Kovalenko wrote, responding to a question from a Russian resident.
Explosions in the Rostov region
Late in the evening on July 21, loud explosions were also reported in Russia’s Rostov region. Russians complained about attacks by unidentified drones.
Specifically, it was claimed that drones targeted the Millerovo military airfield. Footage also showed a fire in the area near the facility.
Additionally, it should be noted that on the night of July 23, railway infrastructure in Novocherkassk was attacked. The Center for Countering Disinformation reported that this route is used by Russia to transport weapons, ammunition, fuel, and troops to the border with Ukraine.
