On the morning of January 22, explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied Donetsk and Makiivka, and a column of smoke was seen in the sky. The Russian invaders claim an "attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine" on energy facilities, according to local Telegram channels.

The Russian invaders claim that Ukrainian troops allegedly attacked three power substations.

The network reports significant damage, which caused a blackout in many districts of Donetsk.

Thus, Kuibyshevsky district and partially Voroshilovsky and Kyivsky districts are without power. According to the power company, the damage is serious.

Social media also reports that the Kirovsky, Budyonovsky, Petrovsky, and Leninsky districts are partially without power.

Strikes in Donetsk

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops, explosions have been heard frequently in the temporarily occupied regions of Donetsk Oblast. One of the reasons for this is the Ukrainian Armed Forces' strikes on the occupiers' logistics centers.

Earlier, we reported that a fire broke out in one of the universities in the temporarily occupied Donetsk. The Russian military could have been based there.

As a reminder, on December 15, information about a massive fire in the temporarily occupied Donetsk appeared online. Later it turned out that the "arrivals" were recorded in the Budyonovsky district of the city. As a result, an oil depot caught fire.
