October explosion on the Crimean Bridge

In October 2022, two semi-sections of the automobile part of the Crimean Bridge collapsed as a result of an explosion, damaging the railway tracks.

At that time, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin called it a "terrorist act" and blamed Ukrainian intelligence agencies as the "perpetrators." The Ukrainian side did not directly confirm involvement in the bridge's destruction, but repeatedly emphasized that the Crimean Bridge is a legitimate target for its military.

It is worth mentioning that the bridge is of great importance to the Russians, as it was built by occupiers during the annexation of the peninsula and is strategically vital for the Russian Federation, particularly in terms of military logistics.
