Explosions in Kharkiv on June 24 as Russian forces attack with drones, according to the Kharkiv mayor, Ihor Terekhov.

"Kharkiv was attacked by a Russian forces' UAV, and an explosion was heard in the city. We are clarifying the details. According to preliminary information, drones may still be in the air, stay cautious," he wrote at 02:11 AM Kyiv time.

A few minutes later, Terekhov reported that another explosion had occurred in the city. He also noted that the Russian forces' attack on Kharkiv was ongoing.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov reported that, according to preliminary data, a strike by Russian forces’ drones was recorded in the Nemyshlianskyi district of Kharkiv.

He added that information about casualties and the consequences of the strike is being clarified.

"Preliminarily, one of the strikes occurred in a residential area near a hospital in the Nemyshlianskyi district, and windows were shattered in nearby buildings. No reports of casualties have been received so far," Terekhov clarified.

At the same time, he added that more Shaheds are still flying toward the city. After that, a third explosion was heard in Kharkiv.

As of 02:19 AM Kyiv time, the air raid alert map showed signals active in the Kyiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.

Russian forces regularly attack Kharkiv with drones and occasionally use missiles and guided bombs for strikes.

The night of June 20 was no exception. On that night, Russian forces launched attack drones on Kharkiv and the Kharkiv district, resulting in fires, damage to residential buildings and cars, and civilian casualties.
