Explosions heard in Kyiv amid drone attack, air defense in action

Explosions are being heard in Kyiv amid an ongoing attack by Shahed strike drones. Air defense forces are actively engaged, according to the Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
"Air defense forces are operating in the capital. Drones are approaching the city from various directions. Stay in shelters!" Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported.
He later added that air defense systems were active on the city’s left bank and advised residents to remain in shelters.
Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) Tymur Tkachenko also confirmed the drone attack on the capital.
"Possible air defense activity. Stay in safe places until the all-clear is given," he wrote.

The air raid alert in Kyiv and the Kyiv region has been lifted.
Shahed drone attack
On the evening of Sunday, June 15, Russian forces once again launched Shahed kamikaze drones toward Ukraine. Air raid alerts were declared in several eastern and northern regions.
The previous night, Russian forces attacked Ukraine using kamikaze drones, as well as cruise and ballistic missiles.
An air raid alert was also declared in Kyiv due to the Shahed drone attack, and air defense forces were activated in response.
