On the night of July 3, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv and several regions of Ukraine. Explosions were later heard in the capital, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration and the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Air raid alert in Kyiv due to the threat of ballistic missile use. Immediately take shelter in the nearest safe location and remain there until the danger has passed. Do not ignore the alert signals," the message read at 01:06 AM Kyiv time.

At the same time, the military reported a missile heading toward Kyiv, followed by explosions in the capital. A second missile was reported shortly thereafter.

As of 01:14 AM Kyiv time, the air raid alert map showed active alerts in the following regions: Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, and Donetsk.
