In Crimea, in the area of temporarily occupied Yevpatoria, powerful explosions have been reported. Witnesses are suggesting a possible attack on a military airfield, according to the Crimean Telegram channels.

It is noted that witnesses have counted up to 10 explosions near the Saky airfield in Novofedorivka.

Witnesses also report that in the village of Mykhailivka, located near the military airfield, debris fell on a private house, causing a fire.

Witnesses also report the launch of a rocket in Armyansk at 11:55 p.m. Kyiv time. A bright trail in the sky was visible from the window for several seconds. The same explosion was heard in the Krasnoperekopsk district.

An attack on the Russian military command post in Crimea

On Thursday, January 4, a series of explosions occurred in Crimea. Photos and videos posted online showed that there were strikes on the peninsula.

Later, the Armed Forces confirmed that a strike was carried out on an enemy command post near Sevastopol.

On January 5, an aircraft from the special flight detachment Russia, which is subordinate to the Office of the President of the Russian Federation, arrived in Crimea.

There were reports circulating online that the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valeriy Gerasimov, was killed as a result of the Ukrainian strike on Crimea on January 4. However, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine did not confirm this information.
