An explosion occurred in Kharkiv this afternoon, June 30. The Russians hit the city with a glide bomb, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov.

"An explosion was heard in Kharkiv. Be careful," Terekhov wrote.

Later, Syniehubov clarified that the strike on Kharkiv caused a fire in a civilian non-residential building. As of 16:40, the response and inspection of the site is underway.

Terekhov said that the Russians attacked Kharkiv with a guided aerial bomb. It hit almost the city center.

"A bomb hit almost the city center. It hit a civilian enterprise. There is a fire at the site. There are wounded," he wrote.

At the same time, Syniehubov said that at least five wounded have been reported, including one child.

Terekhov said that the wounded include an eight-month-old baby and five adults. Also, 7 cars of the affected company are burning at the site of the impact. The investigation of the site is ongoing.

Terekhov said that one person was killed in the air strike. The number of wounded has increased to 8 people.

"Unfortunately, we already have information about one dead person. The examination of the strike site is ongoing," he wrote.

In Ukraine, it is strictly forbidden to film and publish the work of air defense and the consequences of missile strikes. Residents of the regions where the alert has been declared are asked to remain calm and immediately take shelter in case of threat.

Situation in Kharkiv

Since May of this year, when Russia launched a second offensive in the north of the Kharkiv region, the Russians have been hitting Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs quite often.

According to Syniehubov, the Russians are using Kharkiv as a testing ground for modified munitions.
