Explosion heard in Kharkiv amid drone attack

An explosion was heard in Kharkiv as the city and the region came under attack from Russian Shahed strike drones, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Suspilne.
"An explosion was heard in Kharkiv, likely outside the city," eyewitnesses said.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported Shahed drones moving through the central Kharkiv region on course toward the city.
Russian strikes
On the evening of August 26, Russian forces launched Shahed strike drones toward Ukraine. As of 00:30, UAVs were moving over Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Kharkiv regions.
Russian troops also shelled mines in the Donetsk region, leaving one person dead and several wounded.
During the night of August 26, Russia launched about 60 drones against Ukraine.
