Events in Syria prove Russia can suffer defeats, Ukraine's Minister
Events in Syria once again prove that Russia is not as strong as it seems and can be defeated, Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports, citing its head, Andrii Sybiha.
"The events in Syria are a striking failure for the Kremlin, demonstrating that Russia can suffer defeats and retreat. It can and must be forced into peace. This is possible only through our strength and unity," Sybiha stated.
Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs participated online in the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting, where he expressed gratitude to European partners for adopting the 15th sanctions package against Russia and intensifying pressure on Moscow's shadow fleet.
Sybiha also urged allies to continue raising the cost of war for the aggressor and its economy.
"Pressure must continue through sectoral sanctions against Russian metallurgy, energy, and other critical areas. The lower the prices for oil and energy profits for Russia, the closer we get to a just peace," emphasized Ukraine's high-ranking official.
Furthermore, Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs thanked European allies for supporting Ukraine throughout this pivotal year and called for maintaining unity to achieve peace through strength.
As reported earlier, the regime of Bashar al-Assad fell within ten days. The dictator was forced to flee to Russia, where Putin granted him asylum.
