The European Commission has disbursed another tranche of 1.5 billion euros in macro-financial aid to Ukraine. Kyiv will receive 18 billion euros in long-term concessional loans in 2023, according to Ursula von der Leyen, the head of the European Commission, on X.

"Europe's funding has supported Ukraine's economic stability and public services since the start of Russia’s war. Today, we disburse a new €1.5 billion," she wrote.

According to her, overall support for Ukraine has reached 85 billion euros and will continue. Specifically, Brussels intends to allocate 50 billion euros to Ukraine by 2027.

Macro-financial assistance

2023, the EU will provide Ukraine with 18 billion euros in macro-financial aid.

In addition, the European Commission has proposed creating a new instrument for Ukraine within the European Union budget, including grants, loans, and guarantees covering part of Ukraine's current expenditures and funding urgent reconstruction projects. It will provide continuous financial support until 2027 and cover 45% of Ukraine's budget deficit for this period. The creation of the Ukrainian Fund with a volume of 50 billion euros is planned.
