In Western European countries, a sharp rise in temperatures is expected in the coming days. In some areas, the air may warm up to 45 degrees Celsius, according to ONET and PolskieRadio24.
Where it will be hottest
According to the latest forecasts, a powerful heatwave will begin to intensify by the end of this week. Western European countries will be the most affected.
From Monday to Wednesday, temperatures in the southern parts of Spain, Portugal, and France may reach 43–45 degrees Celsius. The highest values are forecast in the Spanish region of Andalusia.
Meteorologists warn that in some places temperatures will be around 20 degrees higher than the seasonal average.

Heat is spreading to other countries
Temperatures of around 40 degrees are also expected in Madrid and Paris.
Meanwhile, Rome, Vienna, and Budapest are forecast to see temperatures above 35 degrees. Hot weather will temporarily reach the southern parts of the United Kingdom as well, including London.
According to preliminary estimates, the heatwave in Mediterranean countries may last until the end of June, and in some areas even longer.

Why will temperatures rise so sharply
Meteorologists say the cause of the abnormal heat is a so-called heat dome.
This phenomenon occurs under the influence of a strong high-pressure system that traps hot air over large areas. As a result, heat accumulates, cloud cover decreases, and temperatures continue to rise over several days or even weeks.
What is known about possible records
Meteorological models show that certain regions of Spain and France may approach some of the highest June temperatures ever recorded.
Meteorologists note that final values may still be adjusted, but current forecasts already indicate a very powerful heatwave in the western part of the continent.
