US leader Donald Trump criticised the European Commission’s decision to fine Elon Musk’s social network X €120 million. According to him, Europe is moving in the wrong direction, according to a White House broadcast.

According to Trump, the European Commission’s decision was rather strange.

"That's a nasty one. Elon has not called me to ask for help in that one. But no, it's a tough thing. I don't think it's right. No, I don't think it's right," he said.

The US president also expressed confusion over how the European Commission could take such action.

"I'll speak about it later. I'm going to get a full report on it. Look, Europe has to be very careful. They're doing a lot of things. We want to keep Europe as Europe. Europe is going in some bad directions. It's very bad. Very bad for the people. We don't want Europe to change so much. They're going in some very bad directions. That was a big That was a big thing," the American leader said.

Fine against X

The European Commission fined billionaire Elon Musk’s social network X €120 million (about $140 million). The reason for the fine was a violation of EU digital service rules, particularly the "misleading design" of the blue checkmark.

The US reacted sharply. Elon Musk himself called for the European Union to be "abolished". US Vice President JD Vance and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also criticized the EU. Other pro-Trump senators and politicians even resorted to open threats, including "not defending Europe".

US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick stated that the United States would maintain 50% tariffs on European goods if the fine against Musk’s social network is not overturned.

In response, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski advised Musk to "roll off to Mars, where there is no censorship of Nazi greetings". Meanwhile, European politicians, commentators and experts issued strong criticism of the United States, Trump, and Musk with his platform.
