EU to tighten sanctions against Iran over its military aid to Russia - Reuters
The European Union is going to tighten sanctions against Iran for providing military assistance to the Russian Federation, according to Reuters.
"EU countries have agreed to add 10 new individuals and entities to the Iran sanctions list," Reuters reports.
One of the sources said that this step is related to Iran's support for armed proxies in the Middle East and the Red Sea region.
It is also related to the military support that Tehran provides to Moscow.
Reuters recalled that EU leaders had previously agreed to tighten sanctions against Iran after Tehran's missile and drone attack on Israel.
Sanctions against Iran
Western countries regularly impose sanctions on Iran, especially because of its military ties with Russia.
Recently, US officials have stated that they want to tighten restrictions on Iranian oil exports and limit Russia's ability to continue financing its war against Ukraine.
