On the sidelines of the European Political Community summit, leaders discussed key security challenges for Europe and ways to support Ukraine. The main message was unity and coordinated action to protect the continent, pressure on Russia, new sanctions, and the use of frozen assets, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Recently, on the sidelines of the European Political Community summit, we held productive meetings with our partners. Europe faces many challenges right now, and there is only one effective response to all of them – unity. All decisions must be made for our shared defense," Zelenskyy emphasized.

European Political Community summit

The European Political Community summit is a meeting of heads of state and government from over 40 European countries, created as a platform to discuss security, economy, and energy.

The initiative was launched in 2022 by French President Emmanuel Macron following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The format allows EU and non-EU countries to coordinate actions and engage in strategic dialogue.
