EU leaders to ask Trump for Patriot missiles for Ukraine, Bloomberg reports

Ukraine needs Patriot missiles to counter Russian terror. European Union partners are going to turn to the US for help, Bloomberg reports.
EU to ask Trump for Patriot systems for Ukraine
In August, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told reporters that the country needs at least 300 Patriot interceptor missiles for the winter. He proposed that the US sell Ukraine 5% to 10% of its reserves.
However, the US response remains unclear. The outlet says European leaders plan to lobby US President Donald Trump on the issue.
This week, European leaders will attend United Nations meetings in New York, where they will have an opportunity to make progress on resolving the issue.
EU leaders will also urge other countries, including the United Kingdom and Japan, to provide financial support to Ukraine.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that the European Union is calling on international partners to speed up financial assistance to Ukraine ahead of winter.
It was also reported that the EU is considering allocating €10 billion from the SAFE program for joint defense projects with Ukraine.
In addition, the EU has already decided to provide Ukraine with €3.3 billion to purchase missiles and drones for the Defense Forces.
