EU diplomacy chief snubs OSCE meeting attended by Russian Foreign Minister
The chief diplomat of the European Union, Josep Borrell, ignored the OSCE ministerial meeting. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, was there, according to the OSCE meeting.
The delegation of the European Union was nevertheless represented at the Council of Ministers of the OSCE member states. The deputy head of the EU delegation to the OSCE, Rasa Ostaruskaite, spoke instead of Borrell.
The European official condemned Russia and Belarus for aggression against Ukraine and other states.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba was also not present at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the OSCE. He is boycotting the meeting, because the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Lavrov, is present at it.
Ukraine was also supported by the foreign ministers of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Yesterday, November 29, Poland supported the boycott.
In turn, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Skopje but did not stay at the summit for a short time. Blinken left Skopje before Lavrov arrived there.
