According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, in a gesture of international solidarity, Estonia has extended a helping hand to Ukrainian rescuers by delivering a fresh batch of humanitarian aid, specifically tailored for underwater demining operations.

On August 1, the rescue teams in Mykolaiv received assistance from their Estonian counterparts in the form of over 90 metal detectors and 4 specialized vehicles dedicated to underwater demining.

Additionally, on the same day, the Mykolaiv region's rescue personnel received support from Germany. Generous contributors provided fire-suppressing substances (Solberg RE-HEALING RF 3x6 ATC 3%-6%), foam pipes, foam dispensers, cable drums, firefighting axes, floodlights, and much more.

Ukraine's demining efforts

In the wake of the Russian incursion into Ukraine and the ensuing active combat, our nation has been afflicted by explosive remnants. Some analysts have even termed Ukraine the most heavily mined country globally.

In response, Ukraine is embarking on a new state policy focusing on humanitarian demining and is also urging other countries to lend their support in this critical endeavor.

Furthermore, Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, delineated the priority areas for demining efforts. According to him, the primary focus lies on clearing routes beneath power transmission lines and open fields.
