Estonia develops Western military strategy plan for Ukraine's victory
Estonia has prepared a military strategy plan for Western countries to help Ukraine win the war. The plan is intended for three years, according to ERR.
The document is intended for all countries participating in the Ramstein working group, and it is a kind of call that demonstrates that if Western countries consolidate their efforts, the necessary contribution to Ukraine's victory is quite small.
For example, the GDP of all countries participating in the Ramstein working group is 47 trillion euros, of which only 0.2% was allocated to help Ukraine. At the same time, Russia's GDP is estimated at only 2 trillion euros.
"The size of the West's economy is ten times larger than Russia's. The difference is huge. The problem is that Russia has already moved to the path of a military economy, meaning that half of their economy is working directly for it, while in the West it is not the case, they have not yet woken up, so to speak," said Calev Stoicescu, chairman of the Riigikogu's National Defense Commission.
In addition, the West needs to increase production in the defense industry. According to the example of Estonia, this will take two years.
Zelenskyy's visit to Estonia
On January 11, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Estonia, where he held a series of important meetings.
During a joint briefing, Estonian President Alar Karis said that in Russia's war against Ukraine, strikes on the territory of the aggressor country cannot be avoided, and there should be no restrictions on weapons transferred to Ukraine by partners.
