Emergency evacuation at Warsaw airport: Bomb disposal experts inspect baggage

Part of Warsaw Chopin Airport was evacuated on the evening of September 15 after a report of unattended baggage. Bomb disposal experts are inspecting the item, TVN24 reports.
Police received the report about the unattended baggage a few minutes before 7:00 p.m. local time. Following the alert, the relevant services were dispatched to inspect the item.
Warsaw police spokesperson Paweł Chmura said that the Border Guard is conducting a bomb disposal inspection to determine whether the baggage poses any threat.

What's happening at the airport
Due to the incident, people were evacuated from departure terminals A and B. Passengers were also evacuated from the arrivals area near entrance A1.
In addition, vehicle traffic in the departures zone was temporarily suspended. According to police, only city buses were allowed to continue operating there.
The press office of Chopin Airport confirmed that the inspection of the baggage is ongoing. Airport spokesperson Piotr Rudzki said that part of the terminal was evacuated because of the unattended baggage.
The airport did not specify how many people had to be evacuated.
Bomb disposal experts are currently examining the unattended baggage and will determine whether it poses a real threat.
