In Dubai, a gradual return to normal life is underway during the ceasefire between the US and Iran. People who left due to the danger are returning, and schools are resuming in-person learning, according to Business Insider.
More than a week has passed since the ceasefire between the US and Iran was concluded, and the UAE authorities have begun restoring normal life rhythms. In particular, schools and universities are reopening for in-person learning, and employees are gradually returning to office work.
At the same time, some foreigners who left the country during the hostilities are beginning to return. For example, some families had moved to Europe or the US amid the escalation, but have now decided to resume their lives in the emirate, despite lingering uncertainty.
Impact of the war on Dubai
The article notes that the war significantly affected Dubai, which had long positioned itself as a safe hub for foreigners. Business Insider recalls that during the conflict, Iran struck UAE territory with missiles and drones, resulting in casualties, damage to infrastructure, and massive transportation disruptions.
Due to the hostilities, the region's airspace was temporarily closed, leading to flight cancellations and thousands of stranded passengers. Some companies moved employees to remote work, and schools switched to online learning.
Emirate's revival
Currently, the situation in Dubai is gradually stabilizing: services such as pet transport, education, and business activity are resuming. At the same time, residents and experts speak of a new normal – even after the ceasefire, many families continue to prepare for possible escalation.
However, despite the return to normal life, some expats remain cautious and are in no rush to fully restore their previous way of life. This is due to the fragility of the ceasefire and the risk of renewed escalation.
As is known, during the Middle East conflict, thousands of flights were conducted over the Emirates despite the aerial threat.
During the hostilities between the US, Israel, and Iran, the latter carried out several attacks on Dubai, justifying its strikes as destroying US military bases. However, civilian objects also suffered from Tehran's strikes.
When security in the UAE was compromised, the media began reporting on a possible food shortage due to the war, as logistics were complicated by the fighting.
