Drones target industrial sites near Moscow: Factory and tech park hit

On the night of May 28, drones attacked the Dubna machine building plant and the Elma-Zelenograd technopark in the Moscow region, according to the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko.
Dubna machine building plant
The plant is one of the key components of the Russian defense industry. It is located in the city of Dubna, Moscow region, and has been part of the Kronstadt concern since 2020.
The main profile of the plant is the production of combat UAVs, including the Orin complex.
“These drones are used by Russia against Ukraine. The company has deployed full-scale serial production, as well as design development of new versions of drones with advanced combat capabilities,” added Kovalenko.
The plant has composite processing workshops, modern avionics, and control system assembly lines.
The facility operates in a war economy mode and increases production even under sanctions pressure.
Elma-Zelenograd technology park
The technology park is a high-tech cluster specializing in the development of
- microtechnology
- IT solutions
- robotics
- medical equipment.
“They produce microchips, elements for guidance systems and drone control units. “Elma is one of the centers where critical components previously imported from the West are being produced,” Kovalenko explained.
Strikes on Russian territory
Ukraine regularly conducts attacks on targets in Russia, including oil refineries, defense industry enterprises, and logistics infrastructure. The attacks are carried out mostly by drones and are aimed at disrupting military supply chains and weakening Russia's economic potential.
On May 28 night, several cities in the Moscow region heard explosions due to air defense operations amid the drone attacks. A number of airports were shut down.
