Drones strike cargo ship near Russia's Novorossiysk

In the Black Sea near Novorossiysk, Russia, drones attacked the cargo ship Nadezhda. The strike caused a fire on board, and crew members sustained serious injuries, according to Reuters.
The incident occurred on Monday evening. The cargo ship was en route from Novorossiysk to the Turkish port of Samsun and was approximately 20 nautical miles off the Russian coast when it was struck by drones.
The strike by the drones on the bow of the ship, where the bridge is located, caused a fire to break out. Three crew members sustained serious injuries.
According to the Turkish Maritime Administration, all 22 sailors, including the injured, were evacuated to Russian territory.
The Russian container ship Yanina sank in the Black Sea following an attack by Ukrainian drones. The vessel belonged to FESCO, a subsidiary of Rosatom.
Russia plans to equip grain carriers with machine guns and armor and provide military escorts to protect grain exports from Ukrainian strikes.
In addition, Russia is trying to protect ships in its southern ports from attacks.
Specifically, a temporary ban on vessel traffic to and from the port of Novorossiysk has been imposed. The restrictions are in effect from midnight until 5:00 a.m. due to attacks by Ukrainian drones.
