President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a technological meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander‑in‑Chief focused on Ukraine’s long‑range capabilities, according to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov.

"We heard reports from the military about the needs of the Defense Forces for drones and missiles, the effectiveness of their use, and ways to improve results. The Ministry of Defense reported on the status of contract signing and execution, funding levels, and the real provision of the army," Umerov said.

The Staff also addressed problem areas with Ukrainian state and private manufacturers:

  • Production and supply of components;
  • Launching new production capacities;
  • Opening factories and scaling up export capabilities.

"As a result of the Staff, specific tasks were assigned to implementers and control over their execution was established," he emphasized.

Earlier today, Zelenskyy said that the technological meeting of the Staff would largely be devoted to producing Ukraine’s long‑range weapons.

Ukrainian engineers are developing new strike drones designed to hunt down Shaheds. These drones operate like air‑defense missiles — they detonate near enemy targets and strike them with shrapnel.

Zelenskyy also held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander‑in‑Chief on Friday, September 26, which included discussions on increasing contract personnel in the army.
