Drones may have hit Russian city building Shaheds, reports say

The Russian city of Yelabuga in Tatarstan may have been attacked by drones on Sunday, June 15. The city is known for assembling enemy drones, including Shaheds, according to the Telegram channel Astra.
"At 6:30 a.m., a drone threat alert was declared in the region. According to locals, drones were seen in Chistopol and Yelabuga," Russian media reported.
Footage allegedly showing drones, air defense activity, and a fire has been circulating online. Russian officials have not yet commented on the incident.
Yelabuga is home to a factory built in 2023 within the Alabuga special economic zone. The facility manufactures drones, including the Shahed-type attack drones.
Recall that this morning, flights were restricted at three airports in Russia — Izhevsk, Kazan, and Nizhnekamsk. The first two cities are located in Tatarstan, while Nizhnekamsk is the capital of the Udmurt Republic.
Attacks on the factory in Tatarstan
Alabuga is a special industrial and manufacturing economic zone in the Yelabuga district of Tatarstan.
It is worth noting that this is not the first attack on the factory in Yelabuga. Explosions were reported in that area on April 23, 2025.
Additionally, on the night of April 26, drones attacked Yelabuga, where Russians produce Shahed drones. At the same time, a large chemical plant in the Ivanovo region was also targeted. The plant produces components for Russian equipment and weapons, including missiles.
