Drones attacked Russia again - Damaged houses and business center
Drones attacked four Russian regions overnight. In Belgorod, residential buildings and a business center were damaged, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to the Ministry, 12 UAVs were intercepted and destroyed overnight by the latest air defense systems:
- five over the Bryansk region;
- five over the Belgorod region;
- one over the Voronezh region;
- one over the Saratov region.
At the same time, Russian media reported that a private house caught fire in Belgorod due to a drone attack. Multi-story buildings and the Monblan business center were also damaged.
There is no information about casualties. A missile danger zone is currently in effect in the region.
Attack on the electrometallurgical plant
Additionally, overnight UAVs attacked the Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant named after A.A. Ugarov. Residents reported loud explosions and published videos from the scene.
According to the plant's press service, there were no casualties or damage as a result of the attack.
By the way, this is the only full-cycle metallurgical plant in Russia where the technology of direct iron reduction and melting in electric furnaces is implemented, allowing to be metal practically free from harmful impurities and residual elements.
The main consumers of metal products of JSC OEMK named after A.A. Ugarov in the Russian market are enterprises of the automotive, engineering, pipe, hardware, and bearing industries, as well as the defense industry.
Drone attacks in Russia
During the night of March 23, explosions occurred and a fire broke out at the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery in the Samara region. Witnesses reported two explosions due to drone attacks.
In total, over more than three months of the current year, there have been 15 attacks on Russian refineries. Eight refineries with a total installed capacity of 83 million tons per year have suffered significant damage. The total installed capacity of the attacked plants is 178 million tons per year.
Drone attacks have disrupted 10-15% of Russia's oil refining capacity.
