Drones attack the Syzran oil refinery: Fire breaks out at facility

Unknown drones attacked the Syzran oil refinery in Russia’s Samara region overnight on February 19, triggering a fire at the facility, according to Russian Telegram channels.
Residents told the Telegram channel Mash that they heard at least three explosions near the refinery at 2:45 a.m. local time. A fire is currently burning at the site, and the first images of the blaze have begun circulating on social media.
Meanwhile, Samara region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev confirmed the incident, stating that there were no casualties.
“The site is being handled by emergency and operational services. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties. The region remains under the threat of further drone attacks,” Fedorishchev said.
Meanwhile, the Telegram channel ASTRA reported yesterday that since the beginning of 2025, a total of 16 oil facilities across 10 regions in Russia have been targeted.
