The oil pumping station Andreapol in the Tver region of Russia was hit by a drone attack yesterday. Nine drones targeted the facility, according to Astra.

Sources from a Russian edition reported that the oil pumping station Andreapol sustained damage following a drone strike, with the communication control unit and electrical switchboard being hit.

Russian state media referred to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, which claimed that nine drones were allegedly shot down over the Tver region on the night of February 13. However, the Ministry did not provide any details on the outcome of the attacks.

"ASTRA found that all nine drones were not shot down, but instead successfully struck the Andreapol station, operated by Transneft-Baltica in the village of Erokhino, Tver region," Astra said.

In addition to the damage to the electrical switchboard and control unit, the Russian outlet also reported that no casualties occurred during the attack.

Ahead of the incident, sources from RBC-Ukraine reported that the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) confirmed the drone attack on the oil pumping station Andreapol in the Tver region, which occurred on the evening of February 13. It was also reported that the station had suspended operations.

It is important to note that the Andreapol station had previously been targeted in drone strikes this winter. The facility, in particular, was attacked by UAVs on the night of January 29.

According to media reports, the attack caused damage to the roof of the communication building and the station's operator area, as well as to the filtration pump station. There was also an oil product spill and a fire.

In the Tver region, over 20 drones also attacked an ammunition depot at the 23rd Arsenal of the Russian Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU), along with a nearby military unit in the settlement of Oktyabrsky in the Toropetsky municipal district.

Local media reported that the Andreapol oil pumping station of LLC Transneft-Baltic is one of the largest production facilities in the Tver region.

It was planned that the station would facilitate the completion of construction, commissioning, and the transportation of oil through the Surgut-Polotsk pipeline.

Currently, the Andreapol station is considered one of the key points of the Baltic Pipeline System-2. The chief engineer of LLC Transneft-Baltic, Evgeny Inzhevatov, stated in 2022 that the station operates to ensure reliable and safe transportation of oil, and its regular modernization and updates enable it to meet the most stringent requirements for pipeline transport facilities.
