Drone found in Polish forest after Russian attack: What is known

In Poland, a drone was found in a forest. The incident occurred the following week after an attack by Russian drones on the country, TVP reports.
A fallen drone was found in a forest near the village of Stanisławka in the Lublin Voivodeship. On Wednesday, September 17, Dorota Krukowska-Bubiło, Deputy Police Commissioner of Zamość (a city in southeastern Poland), reported that a local resident informed law enforcement about the discovery.
The police confirmed the information, cordoned off the area, and notified the Lublin District Prosecutor’s Office, which is already investigating the incident following last week’s intrusion of Russian drones into Polish airspace.
Drone attack on Poland
Russia attacked Poland with drones on the night of September 10. At the same time, they launched a large number of drones and missiles at Ukraine.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that a total of 19 drones were detected in the country’s airspace. Fighter jets were scrambled to destroy the targets, but only four drones were neutralized.
In the Lublin Voivodeship, a private house was partially destroyed during the attack. According to Polish media, it was hit by a missile from an F-16 that had been fired at a Russian drone.
The drones that were not shot down likely fell after running out of fuel.
