A drone attacked the Higher Combined Arms Command School in Moscow today. A fire broke out, according to the SOTA Telegram channel.

“There is a fire in Kuzminki (a district in Moscow - ed.), presumably after a drone attack on the Moscow Higher Combined Arms Command School. A shooting range and a gas station are located nearby,” the message says.

Locals heard a loud popping and sounds similar to shootings, “but not for long.”

About the school

The Higher Combined Arms Command School is a military institution of higher education of Russia's armed forces. It is the oldest military educational institution in the country, founded on December 15, 1917.

Since 2015, the school has been training command staff with higher military-specialized education under a four-year military education system for the mechanized forces and ground forces of the Russian armed forces.

Drone attacks on Moscow

This is not the first time that drones have attacked Moscow. On September 1, nine allegedly downed drones were reported to have attacked Moscow. One of them was allegedly intercepted near the Moscow oil refinery.

In May, air defense systems operated in the Moscow region because of a drone flying toward the capital. The drone was allegedly destroyed in Podolsk.

The drone attack on Moscow in July 2023 was a special operation of Ukraine's Defense Intelligence. At the time, the agency hinted that “all the birds have reached Moscow.”
