In the Russian village of Korenevo, Kursk region, a fire broke out at a factory due to a drone attack on the night of July 16, according to the governor of the Kursk region, Alexei Smirnov, and local social media.

Kursk Telegram channels wrote about a powerful explosion in Korenevo, and the fire at the factory allegedly occurred due to a drone drop.

It is also noted that the fire at the low-voltage equipment plant covers an area of 400 square meters.

The local governor stated that "a Ukrainian drone dropped an explosive device on the territory of the low-voltage equipment plant in Korenevo" that night.

"No employees were injured. The fire in one of the technological workshops is being extinguished by fire brigades from two districts," the Russian official said in a Telegram post.

Drone attacks in Kursk region

On the evening of July 15, the governor reported that three aircraft-type drones were allegedly shot down over the region on Monday morning. He then added that five Ukrainian drones were neutralized and destroyed with small arms and electronic warfare means in the border areas throughout the day.

"Drops from Ukrainian copters and kamikaze drone attacks were noted near the village of Korenevo, the villages of Gordeevka and Obukhovka in the Korenevsky district, the settlements of Glushkovo and Tyotkino, the village of Neonilovka, and the Otruba farm in the Glushkovsky district, the village of Nikolaevo-Daryino in the Sudzhansky district, Kozino village of Rylsky district, Iskra village of Khomutovsky district," Smirnov said.

The governor added that there were no casualties.

Previously, on July 14, the Kursk region was allegedly attacked by drones, and a fire broke out at a television tower in the city of Sudzha.
