On the night of July 29, unidentified drones attacked Salsk in Russia's Rostov region. As a result of the strike, train traffic was disrupted, and a fire broke out in a freight train, according to the Telegram channel Telegramma RZD.

"Today, at 2:00 a.m., due to falling drone debris, the overhead contact system at Salsk station in the Rostov region was damaged," the statement said.

A fire also broke out in a freight train. Reportedly, a firefighting train was dispatched to extinguish the blaze. At the same time, images of the fire were circulated online.

In addition to the above, it is reported that the windows of two passenger cars of train No. 59, Novokuznetsk–Kislovodsk, were damaged. Passengers were evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

"Train traffic through Salsk station has been suspended. Railway workers are doing everything possible to minimize passenger train delays," Russian Railways (RZD) stated.

Meanwhile, the head of the Salsk district, Vladimir Berezovskyi, reported that two tank cars and a locomotive were hit during the drone strike on the freight train.

He also noted that information about an evacuation from the city is being spread in local chat groups. However, according to him, this information is false.
