Shelling of Ukraine by Russia
Russia systematically shells Ukrainian territory using a wide range of weapons, from missiles and artillery to kamikaze drones. Civilian targets are often the primary focus: residential buildings, energy infrastructure, schools, hospitals, and other places where there is no military presence.
Russian troops resort to drone attacks every night, creating an additional threat. For example, on the night of May 21, Russia launched 76 Shahed drones and various types of decoy drones against Ukraine from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, and Bryansk. As of the morning, air defense forces managed to eliminate 63 of them.
