Drone attack near Crimean Bridge: Debris falls on road, Russia claims

The Russian army claimed it shot down an unidentified drone over the Crimean Bridge on the morning of Tuesday, June 3, the Telegram channel Mash reports.
According to Mash, the drone was allegedly shot down around 6 a.m. local time.
"Air defense systems responded to a jet-powered drone. At that moment, cars were still driving on the bridge from the Taman side. The debris fell directly onto the road," the message says.
The Russians claim that no one was injured during the air defense operation. However, monitoring channels report that after the drone was shot down, traffic on the bridge was blocked for nearly three hours.
Crimean Bridge explosion
On October 8, 2022, a truck exploded on the Crimean Bridge. In addition to the explosion, a massive fire broke out.
Then, in July 2023, the Crimean Bridge was attacked again. Two spans were destroyed. The Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Vasyl Malyuk, confirmed the agency's involvement in the operation and said it was carried out using Sea Baby drones.
Recently, Dmytro Pletenchuk, Spokesperson for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that the Russians have significantly reinforced security on the Crimean Bridge, making it harder to destroy.
According to Pletenchuk, the only reason the bridge is still standing is the strengthened security. The Russians regularly shut down traffic on it in response to even a potential aerial threat.
"They are investing significant resources in guarding this facility, because the bridge is not only a logistical asset for them — it's also an ideological symbol," added Spokesperson for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
