Drone attack hits critical infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia
Zaporizhzhia and its district came under an enemy airstrike on November 16 involving Shahed-type combat drones. The drone attack caused no injuries but did damage an infrastructure facility, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
The official clarified that the occupiers struck Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district early this morning using Shahed drones.
"A critical infrastructure facility was damaged. Preliminary reports indicate no injuries," said the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration in a Telegram update.
He also reported that the blast wave damaged commercial premises and road surfaces.
"Other damage is still being assessed," he added.
Shelling of Zaporizhzhia and the region
According to the regional administration, Russian forces launched a total of 464 attacks on 17 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region within a single day.
Regarding drone use, the enemy deployed 275 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of various modifications targeting Zaporizhzhia, Lobkove, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novomykolaivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, and Novodarivka.
Additionally, the Russian army carried out 24 airstrikes on Odarivka, Lobkove, Stepove, Orikhiv, Temyrivka, and Novoandriivka.
The enemy also used multiple rocket launch systems (MLRS) in six strikes on Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Novodarivka, and Chervone.
"A total of 159 artillery strikes targeted Lobkove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Novodarivka, and Malynivka," the administration reported.
The regional authorities added that there were 15 reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure across the region within the day.
Furthermore, a 67-year-old man was killed yesterday during the shelling of the Polohy district.
Earlier reports stated that explosions were heard in the Zaporizhzhia area on the night of November 16. Enemy UAVs had been observed moving towards the city shortly beforehand.
