Russia launched 45 drones against Ukraine from three directions overnight on August 6. Ukrainian air defense forces intercepted most of the targets, but there were also confirmed hits, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

The Russians launched 45 strike drones and decoy UAVs from three directions: Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Chauda in occupied Crimea.

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces, repelled the attack. In total, air defense units shot down 36 enemy Shahed UAVs and various types of decoy drones over the north, south, and east of the country.

"There were confirmed hits from 9 UAVs at 3 locations, as well as debris from downed drones falling at 1 location," the Ukrainian Air Force reported.

Shelling of Ukraine

On the morning of August 6, Russian forces carried out at least four strikes on a recreation center in the Zaporizhzhia district. Preliminary reports indicate Russian troops used high-explosive aerial bombs.

As a result, two people were killed and 12 others were injured. Among the wounded are four children.

That same night, the Russian army also attacked the Izmail district in the Odesa region with drones. Gas infrastructure facilities were hit, causing a fire that was visible from Romania.

As of this morning, the fire has completely destroyed production equipment. Due to damage to a main gas pipeline, 2,500 consumers have been temporarily disconnected.
