Downed drone debris causes fire in residential building in Kryvyi Rih
Late in the evening on March 17 in Krivyi Rih, fragments from a downed Russian drone fell on a five-story building, causing a fire, which was successfully contained by firefighters, according to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Serhii Lysak.
"The roof is damaged. However, the apartments themselves are intact. Nobody was injured," he wrote.
According to him, explosive ordnance disposal experts removed part of the drone. "To carry out the work safely, almost three dozen residents were evacuated. Now the debris needs to be cleared. People are already back home," he added.
In total, two Shahed drones were downed in the Kryvyi Rih area on the evening of March 17.
Lysak also reported that the aggressor had shelled the Nikopol district three times. Artillery targeted the Marhanetska, Myrivska, and Chervonohryhorivska communities.
"A private house destroyed. Two outbuildings, cars, garages, and greenhouses were damaged. It affected the power line and gas pipeline," added Lysak.
Drone attack
On the night of March 18, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones. The defense forces destroyed 17 drones in Kyiv, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, and Rivne regions.
In the evening of March 12, Russians launched a missile attack on Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region. High-rise buildings were hit. According to local authorities, more than 300 apartments were damaged. Five people were killed and over 40 wounded.
