The US has announced a significant increase in its military budget for 2027, marking the largest defense spending adjustment in the past decade, according to a post by Donald Trump on Truth Social.
The decision is aimed at strengthening the country’s defense capabilities and building a modern armed force.
The US president posted on Truth Social that the military budget for 2027 will be raised from $1 trillion to $1.5 trillion.
The statement reads: “After long and difficult negotiations with Senators, Congressmen, Secretaries, and other Political Representatives, I have determined that, for the Good of our Country, especially in these very troubled and dangerous times, our Military Budget for the year 2027 should not be $1 Trillion.”
Goals and priorities
According to the president, the additional funds will make it possible to build the so-called army of dreams and ensure the protection of the United States from any threats.
Trump emphasized that the spending increase is aimed at strengthening national security and maintaining America’s global leadership: “This will allow us to build the 'Dream Military' that we have long been entitled to and, more importantly, that will keep us safe and secure, regardless of foe. If it weren't for the.”
Sources of funding
The US president noted that the budget increase was made possible through tariffs on other countries and the high revenues they generate, allowing significant funds to be directed toward defense without harming domestic programs.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the good relationship between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin will continue despite the seizure of Russian tankers.
Additionally, following a successful operation in Venezuela, President Trump again turned his attention to Greenland, this time signaling an intention to incorporate the island into the US - a move experts warn could have serious implications for global security and for Ukraine’s interests.
