Donald Trump tells Israel to be careful, hails Qatar as US 'great ally'

US President Donald Trump said that Israel should be very careful in its relations with Qatar, according to The Times of Israel.
One of the journalists asked the US leader if he had a message for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding last week’s Israeli strikes on Hamas leaders.
“My message is that they have to be very, very careful. They have to do something about Hamas, but Qatar has been a great ally to the United States,” Trump replied.
The outlet also notes that after dining with the ruler of Doha, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, on Friday, Trump called him a great man.
The US president added that the sheikh told him Qatar needs better public relations, because people talk about it so badly, and they shouldn’t.
Israel's strike on Hamas leadership in Qatar
On Tuesday, September 9, the Israel Defense Forces, together with counterintelligence, carried out an airstrike in Doha.
The IDF said the operation aimed to eliminate senior members of the Hamas organization who were directly involved in organizing the attacks of October 7, 2023, and who were coordinating subsequent combat operations against Israel.
It is important to note that on Saturday, Benjamin Netanyahu said Hamas leaders in Qatar remain alive, stressing the necessity of eliminating them.
