Donald Trump announces meeting with Starmer

US President Donald Trump has stated that he is willing to meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Their meeting is expected to take place in the coming weeks, according to CNN.
On Friday, Trump told reporters at the White House that he recently had a phone conversation with the British Prime Minister.
"He asked for a meeting and I agreed to the meeting. We’re going to have a friendly meeting. We have a lot of good things going on," the US President said.
He added that Starmer would like to visit the US next week or the week after. Trump reiterated that the meeting was arranged at the request of the Prime Minister and was uncertain about what exactly Starmer hopes to discuss.
CNN clarified that this came after Trump announced the introduction of mirror tariffs in response to all US trade partners without exceptions.
As reported in Western media, Trump has currently only unveiled his plan to raise US tariffs under the tax rates that other countries impose on imports from the US.
"I’ve decided for purposes of fairness that I will charge a reciprocal tarif. It’s fair to all. No other country can complain," Trump stated.
He emphasized that the tariffs would be the same as those other countries set on American goods.
