Legendary American singer Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80. Her family members announced her death on social media.
Dolly Parton, the legendary American country music singer and songwriter behind hits such as "I Will Always Love You," "Jolene" and "9 to 5," has died at 80. The news was announced by her nephew, Brian Seaver, on Instagram.
"I have imagined the heaviness of this moment, but haven't truly felt it until now," he said.
Parton was known not only for her music but also for her philanthropy. She supported a wide range of social initiatives, making major donations to medical research and hospitals, as well as supporting the Black Lives Matter movement and transgender rights.
