The situation in eastern Ukraine remains difficult, with the enemy advancing along the entire front line. The Ukrainian military is ensuring the stability of the defense, reports Oleksandr Syrskii, Commander of the Eastern Military Group.

Syrskii held a meeting with the commanders of the units holding the defense in the eastern sector. The commander analyzed the situation and considered options for further action.

"The combat situation in the east remains difficult. The enemy does not stop conducting offensive actions along the entire frontline," noted Syrskii.

During the meeting, the commander of the Eastern Military Group and the officers made the necessary decisions and took measures to ensure the stability of our defense, save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers, and rationalize the use of ammunition.

Events in the east

Avdiivka, Kupiansk, and Bakhmut remain the epicenter of the fighting in the east.

During the summer counteroffensive, the Ukrainian military advanced on the southern and northern flanks of Bakhmut. The city itself remains under enemy control. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently on active defense in the Bakhmut sector. Earlier, the Land Forces said that the Russians had renewed their offensive in the Bakhmut area with greater vigor.

Military experts believe that the initiative near Bakhmut has passed to the Russians. Read more about this in RBC-Ukraine's article.
