Denmark has allocated the 19th military aid package to Ukraine, according to the Danish Ministry of Defense.

“Today (June 18 - ed.), the government held consultations with the Foreign Policy Committee on the 19th aid package, which will support Ukraine's urgent needs and the long-term development of Ukraine's ability to defend itself,” the statement said.

According to the Danish Ministry of Defense, the package provides for the conclusion of several different agreements with allies on procuring and transferring from the allied defense industry.

“Among other things, more equipment to support the F-16 aircraft transferred by Denmark,” the ministry added.

According to the agency, Ukraine still needs significant military support in the ongoing Russian aggression against the country.

"With the latest aid package, we are providing the maximum possible support for Ukraine's needs on the battlefield now. But we also have a Danish security commitment to support Ukraine for the next 10 years, so we have created a Danish model of assistance through the Ukrainian defense industry that will help increase Ukrainian military production in the short and long term,” said Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.

According to Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Europe is experiencing a crucial moment.

"With this initiative, we are responding to a strong Ukrainian desire and strengthening both Ukrainian and European security. Therefore, from the Danish side, we will continue to expand our capabilities to support the Ukrainian defense industry, and we are also pleased with the attention to this in the EU and other countries,” he said.

Denmark's aid to Ukraine

A special coalition led by the Netherlands and Denmark was formed to deliver F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. These countries have flight simulators.

During a recent meeting with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that F-16s would be delivered to Ukraine soon.

As he said earlier, the first F-16s that Ukraine will receive in 2024 will not play a key role at the front.
