Democrats may nominate Biden for US presidential election as soon as July - Bloomberg
The Democratic Party of the US may nominate the incumbent head of state, Joe Biden, as a candidate for the presidency as early as July, according to Bloomberg.
"The Democratic National Committee is considering formally nominating Joe Biden as early as mid-July to ensure that the president is on November ballots, while helping to stamp out intra-party chatter of replacing him after last week’s poor debate performance," according to the statement.
According to individuals familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity, the potential date for Biden's nomination is July 21, coinciding with a virtual meeting of the Credentials Committee of the Democratic Convention.
The family of US President Joe Biden has urged him to stay in the electoral race and continue the reelection fight.
Earlier, it was reported that the US Supreme Court recognized Donald Trump's immunity. However, this pertains to actions within his constitutional powers while in office. Actions taken privately are not covered by immunity.
