Delicious and healthy meal: Baked oatmeal with bananas and strawberries
Although oatmeal is usually boiled or steamed, it can also be baked, turning it into a kind of pie. And you can diversify the flavor with popular sweet berries and fruits such as strawberries and bananas.
What you need for baked oatmeal
To prepare this delicious and simple breakfast, you need these products:
- flattened oatmeal - 175 g;
- strawberries - 170 g;
- bananas - 1 pc;
- milk ( 2.5% fat) - 470 g;
- butter - 45 g;
- eggs - 1 pc;
- walnuts - 55 g;
- orange zest - 6 g;
- chocolate chips - 60 g;
- brown sugar - 70 g;
- ground cinnamon - 3 g;
- vanilla extract - 8 ml;
- baking powder - 4 g;
- sea salt - 3 g;
- vegetable oil - 15 ml.
How to cook baked oatmeal
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees. Thoroughly grease a small baking dish with butter. Melt the butter in the microwave or in a water bath.
Peel the walnuts from their shells and chop them. Wash the strawberries, remove the stems, and cut the berries into slices. Peel the banana and cut it into thin slices.
Pour the oatmeal into a large bowl, add the orange zest, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder and salt.
Also add half of the strawberries, half of the chopped walnuts, and half of the grated chocolate. Mix the oatmeal ingredients and put everything in the baking dish.
Smooth the mixture a little. Top with the rest of the strawberries, nuts and chocolate, and banana slices.
In another deep bowl, beat the egg and milk. Then add the butter and vanilla extract. Mix the ingredients thoroughly again and pour into the baking dish.
Stir in the ingredients for the baked oatmeal. Shake the baking dish a little to ensure that the liquid is better absorbed into the cereal.
Bake the oatmeal for about 35 minutes. A golden brown crust should form on the dish.
To make it especially tasty and crispy, sprinkle sugar evenly after baking and then bake for another 20-30 seconds.
