In Kyiv, rescue teams continue clearing debris after the overnight shelling. In the destroyed entrance of a multi-story building in the Sviatoshynskyi district, rescuers found the body of another victim, Tymur Tkachenko, Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, reports.

The body of a deceased person was pulled from the rubble of the entrance destroyed by a Russian missile in the Sviatoshynskyi district.

"Due to the strike on this building, six people have died, and eight in total across Kyiv," the Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration noted.

Night attack on Kyiv

On the night of July 31, Russian forces carried out a combined missile and kamikaze drone strike on Kyiv. The primary targets of the aggressor were residential infrastructure in the capital, especially multi-story buildings in residential neighborhoods.

The greatest destruction occurred in the Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts of the capital.

In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a missile directly hit and completely destroyed the entrance of a multi-story building. Rescuers continue to pull victims from the rubble. Emergency responders, medical teams, and all relevant services are working on site.

Children were killed in the capital due to the Russian missile strike, and dozens of people were injured, including police officers who were en route to a call during the attack.

Overall, more than 100 facilities were damaged by the shelling, including not only residential buildings but also schools, hospitals, kindergartens, and a university. Some streets and avenues remain closed.

Employees of the energy company DTEK have already begun restoring power supply.

According to preliminary data, during the attack, the Russians launched over 300 drones and at least 8 missiles. Air defense forces were active, but some enemy targets got through, causing significant damage. There is a possibility that jet-powered drones were used, which are difficult to intercept due to their speed.
